Lilah and Black Friday

Well things have got sorta wild here. We have 5 dogs now. Never planned for this many but couldn’t imagine life without them now. Month or more back joe found a chihuahua on craigslist for free. Well we went and looked at her and she was in such bad shape we just couldnt say no. She was covered in fleas and had patches of hair missing and just was so sad looking. Well first thing we done was give her a few dozen bath’s to get her clean of the flea poo that was covering her from head to toe. Took her to the vet and found she also had worms so got her meds and got that cleared up. Shes doing very well now health wise now if only she would get along with the other dogs lol. Shes a great lap dog and very loving but she does not like to be bothered when shes under the covers which is almost always lol. Every time they get up on the bed she growls. There are times that she looks like shes trying to play but the rest just dont know how to take her and thus run from her. Pretty funny to watch a 7lb chi run off a border collie.

Well we figured she would be it and be No more after that. So can only imagine my surprise when I got off work friday and joe asked me to meet up at the park to go look at the new walking bridge and I go to get out of my car and what jumps outta his truck is another border collie.

Come to find out this boy had been at the vet for two and half months needing a home. He is only 6 months old and was terrified of everything. I’ve never seen a broken border collie till I seen him. I couldnt see sending him back. He has never been out for walks had a collar nothing. Just walking to the bridge was an experience, every time someone would walk by he would curl up on the ground and freeze. We made it finally and then back and home. Wasnt sure how he was gonna go over with the other dogs but figure would wait and see. We finally got him inside and he wouldnt come out of the back room for over an hour. Joe finally carried him out. We brought out the dogs one at a time so not as to overwhelm him to much. All I can say is he is a totally different dog within the week. Alex just thought he is the best chase buddy and chases him all through the house. Even Kay who generally doesnt like big dogs has taken to playing with him all day long. Have to say its first time ever seen all the dogs passed out cold at the same time. lol He goes back to the vet tomorrow to get fixed as they are fixing him for free for taking him. As he was to go to the shelter this week if no home was found.

Sad Day in Brandenburg :(

Well Saturday we took paul to the Threshing Days over in Brandenburg’s fair grounds. Ran into friend of ours and he hung out with us throughout the day. Him and paul did alot of the games and had a great day. Paul did great at the games both friday and saturday. He won 3rd in the pedal pull on friday and 2nd on saturday. I won 3rd on the wrench throwing contest. Paul road the train a bunch of times he had great time on them with bradly.

Well after the games were all done we went to leave but noticed a big cloud down the street so we went down to see what was going on and the Save-a-lot shopping center that been there since the 60′s was on fire. It started down at the smoke shop and went all the way down. It was a total loss. Hard to believe its gone. Paul was all upset as he thought would be no more chicken nuggets lol.

Kayaking!

Well we all went out kayaking saturday. That was an adventure! We even took Kay-ak with us. She did pretty well considering it was her first trip out other then on a pond. She got a bit nervous on the faster water but all in all she did better then I expected. Was a big group that went and was pretty nice. Think we all went swimming at least once lol. Paul wasnt happy about that though. Was a 12 mile paddle and I tell ya I am still sore but not as bad as I was truely expecting. Slept with an ice pack first night or two and wasnt so bad.

Happy Mothers Day :)

Well Paul woke me up nice and early Sunday morning to give me my mothers day card he made me in school. It was very sweet. He was very proud of himself for making it.

We decided to go kayaking with Kay-ak down at the water retention pond and see how she did her first time out in the kayak. She done pretty well for the most part. Her and Joe did end up flipping over in the middle and had to tow them to shore but, not exactly sure what happened to make them flip. Was quite comical to see though. Ended up putting her in the boat with me for a bit she did pretty well as there is more room for her to lay down in mine so think that was a good thing. Paul got to paddle around for a bit as well but mostly we hooked him on the back of our boat and pulled him around. Was alot of fun though.

Seen some really pretty cranes and a beaver damn and just had a nice relaxing day. We all got a bit sumburned though so think next time we need to remember to put some sunblock on as we are all paying for it afterwards. Even joe got sunburned! lol. I somehow bruised my leg without knowing it and boy does it hurt. I will probably be limping for a few days with this.

Joe And Kay-ak

Snapped some photos of Joe with Kay-ak and with Paul when she was still small. Boy she doesnt stay small very long!!!
