Life is Busy

Well this summer sure did fly by. We were always going or doing something seems like. We went out hiking at all different parks. Got to see some very pretty places and waterfalls. There were a few times I wasnt for sure I was going to make it due to the heat but somehow I did. I am actually getting where I can walk longer distances without getting as tired. So that is a good thing.

Got to go out and visit with my Aunt Joan she is doing very well. Was a nice day and was able to catch up on alot of things. Even was able to get some new pictures of my mom and dad that I had never seen before. So that was very special.

We got Paul a new Dog, his name is Alex. He is a Chinese Crested. He is a Hairy Hairless, which means he has hair all over his back and such but not as thick or as much as a normal dog. Paul calls him his son. He Adores him very much. We even took him with us to the Meade County Fair and let paul enter him in the “pet” contest. Paul won 1st Place! in the 20lbs and under section. Boy Paul was proud. His grandma and aunt shelly even came to watch him. Joe won 2nd in the 20lbs and above and 3rd in the trick contest. Oh and I forgot to mention we dyed Alex’s Hair on his head as he has a white mohawk through the hair on his head,well it was Blue and is now Red. We used koolaide. It washes right out but looks pretty neat while its on.

We also got another Border Collie, she is the sister/littermate to the one we had. Her name is Ziggy. She has alot more brown/red in her then Kay-ak does. She has alot of focus issues but shes getting better. We are working on teaching her how to play as she doesnt know how. She was on a working farm and play just wasnt on the top of the list. She has the water drive like kay-ak has the ball drive. She will be a work in progress for some time but she gets there slowly day by day. She is going through her fear stage at the moment and is scared of all sorts of things.

Paul started back to school he is now in 1st grade! He was sad that some of his friends were not going to be in his class this year but he found that he will still see them as they are still in the same school just different teachers. He is doing pretty well so far. The reading is still a struggle but he will get there just takes time.

Sad Day in Brandenburg :(

Well Saturday we took paul to the Threshing Days over in Brandenburg’s fair grounds. Ran into friend of ours and he hung out with us throughout the day. Him and paul did alot of the games and had a great day. Paul did great at the games both friday and saturday. He won 3rd in the pedal pull on friday and 2nd on saturday. I won 3rd on the wrench throwing contest. Paul road the train a bunch of times he had great time on them with bradly.

Well after the games were all done we went to leave but noticed a big cloud down the street so we went down to see what was going on and the Save-a-lot shopping center that been there since the 60′s was on fire. It started down at the smoke shop and went all the way down. It was a total loss. Hard to believe its gone. Paul was all upset as he thought would be no more chicken nuggets lol.

Happy Mothers Day :)

Well Paul woke me up nice and early Sunday morning to give me my mothers day card he made me in school. It was very sweet. He was very proud of himself for making it.

We decided to go kayaking with Kay-ak down at the water retention pond and see how she did her first time out in the kayak. She done pretty well for the most part. Her and Joe did end up flipping over in the middle and had to tow them to shore but, not exactly sure what happened to make them flip. Was quite comical to see though. Ended up putting her in the boat with me for a bit she did pretty well as there is more room for her to lay down in mine so think that was a good thing. Paul got to paddle around for a bit as well but mostly we hooked him on the back of our boat and pulled him around. Was alot of fun though.

Seen some really pretty cranes and a beaver damn and just had a nice relaxing day. We all got a bit sumburned though so think next time we need to remember to put some sunblock on as we are all paying for it afterwards. Even joe got sunburned! lol. I somehow bruised my leg without knowing it and boy does it hurt. I will probably be limping for a few days with this.

Mid American Truck Show 2011

Well we went to the truck show yesterday. Got up early and went and got breakfast and was at the fairgrounds around 9ish when it opened up. Paul had a great time looking at all the cool trucks and getting all the free stuff. Somehow I ended u carrying it all… lol. We got his photos with some of the girls and one of the guys that we had last year. Didnt see anyone famous there this year like in the past but we went the last day so probably missed them. Paul got to take photos with our old digi, he had great time taking photos. Said when asked what he was taking photos of he was like “Im taking photos for my telephone papaw!” was to cute. No clue what all they are going to turn out to be though lol.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Well we invited Joe’s dad out for thanksgiving dinner. When they got here they had a present for Paul to unwrap. Paul was really excited that his Motorcycle papaw had came out to have dinner with us. Paul loved the cars that he had got him and he played with them for a bit before we made him stop so we could hear over him.

Snapped a photo of everyone eatting together and of paul sitting with his Grandma Mo (as she wants to be called) He had a good time playing with her.

Then Paul went over to play with his Motorcycle Papaw I turned on the camera to snap photos in a burst so can actually watch them play if scroll through fast enough lol. He LOVED playing with his papaw.

Paul wanted to take some photos so let him use the camera and he snapped a few photos of each of us.

Before they left we snapped some photos of us all together. Of Paul with his motorcycle papaw and of the Boys all together. All in all was a very nice day. Hope that they come out again so that Paul can enjoy spending time with them some more.
