Fog Attack!

Well Joe was driving accross the bridge and looked like was just going to drive into nothing. Its so weird how the Fog gets around here. One minute you cant see anything next nothing. On our way home there was some Mule driven wagon’s heading down to the bar where they camp out in the field every so many weekends.

Got A Few Things Done On The S10

well not a huge update but a huge improvement with how the s10 runs. the a/c system wasn’t holding any pressure so out it came. next was to work on vacuum line hell. all the vacuum lines were dry rotted. 40% of them were broke and plugged, 50% of them were broke and open, and a couple were hooked up but so badly deteriorated they might have been disconnected. so i started fixing all this by pulling the emissions junk off. that took care of 70% of the vacuum line problems. then i replaced the remaining lines and capped the open ports. i went ahead and done the flipped air cleaner lid mod for now but will replace the entire air cleaner with a chrome one later.

now on to the comedic aspect of the truck. i painted the grill and headlight bezels. they were in rough shape and badly faded and just screaming to be touched up a bit. i ended up using a gunmetal instead of silver because it is all that i had. for some reason i thought that i had a can of silver but  was wrong. i found this out after i pulled the parts off the truck and cleaned and taped up the needed areas. thought what the hell and just used the gunmetal. i don’t think it came out too bad.

and on the down side. i opened the passenger window on the truck the other day. when i went to roll it back up i was like 1/2 and inch from having it rolled up and bam it dropped to the bottom of the door. well add fix the passenger window to my to do list.

anyway here is a few pics showing the engine bay and how much has been cleared out along with shots of the freshly painted grill.

Busy Week

Well I tell ya I have been going non stop since last tuesday… Lets see Had parent teacher conferences. That went great was able to talk to the teacher and get some stuff figured out and now have a way to talk to her. Got pauls report card which he had all good marks and didnt have anything bad to say. Was really impressed he went and matched cards on the board the entire time so he was happy.

Then on Thursday we went on a field trip to Hubers Farm with the kids they all had a great time Paul got him a pumpkin which we are probably going to paint as its not a very big one and not type that is cut out I believe. Got some great photos of him and the little girl from next door together as they were paired up. I will try and get the photos up soon.

Then on Friday, had a birthday party of one of the little girl’s in his class at the park. I was able to go as I got off at 5 and was able to meet them there at 6. Paul had good time they had all sorts of games and he even won a prize.

Finally on My days off, We have been going through the house and helping out one of our neighbors as she has 3 kids but not alot of stuff as she is out of a job as her work closed down. So we got them blankets and sheets and pillow cases and toys and paint and curtains and who knows what else. Went over today and helped her paint up one of the girls rooms pink. She painted the son’s room with a oil base primer before we had went over and she didnt realize you cant mix oil and latex. As the son has profanity all over his walls that has bleed through. But they are not noticeable now ;) Will be painting his room Blue here in few days when the paint is fully dry.

Now I just feel like falling over and not moving but I have to work the rest of the week :( But it could be worse I am just thankful I have a job :)

My Mustang SVO Transformed Into A Chevy!

You read it right. my svo turned into a chevy.  well in reality i traded the svo for an 85 extended cab s10.  the svo has been my pride in joy for a long time but it also caused me a lot of heartbreak. every time i got it running it failed me again. this has been how things were since i owned it and i just couldn’t bring myself to get it running again because it would have just brought me more heart ache.

well i’m not a chevy man as a lot of you know but i weighed my options and had decided i wanted a chevy s10.  i would be able to haul camping gear  and kayaks in the truck along with wood for the winter.  hauling my own wood will cut my winter heating cost in half.  plus the probe just wont make a good camping or kayaking vehicle.

well the s10 needs some work but it does run and drive.  i will post updates on the truck as time goes on and i get more done on it.  first order of business id to fix the choke and vacuum problems.  after that i will see what else i can get done.

anyway here are the pics of the truck as it  was when i received it today.
