Got A Few Things Done On The S10
well not a huge update but a huge improvement with how the s10 runs. the a/c system wasn’t holding any pressure so out it came. next was to work on vacuum line hell. all the vacuum lines were dry rotted. 40% of them were broke and plugged, 50% of them were broke and open, and a couple were hooked up but so badly deteriorated they might have been disconnected. so i started fixing all this by pulling the emissions junk off. that took care of 70% of the vacuum line problems. then i replaced the remaining lines and capped the open ports. i went ahead and done the flipped air cleaner lid mod for now but will replace the entire air cleaner with a chrome one later.
now on to the comedic aspect of the truck. i painted the grill and headlight bezels. they were in rough shape and badly faded and just screaming to be touched up a bit. i ended up using a gunmetal instead of silver because it is all that i had. for some reason i thought that i had a can of silver but was wrong. i found this out after i pulled the parts off the truck and cleaned and taped up the needed areas. thought what the hell and just used the gunmetal. i don’t think it came out too bad.
and on the down side. i opened the passenger window on the truck the other day. when i went to roll it back up i was like 1/2 and inch from having it rolled up and bam it dropped to the bottom of the door. well add fix the passenger window to my to do list.
anyway here is a few pics showing the engine bay and how much has been cleared out along with shots of the freshly painted grill.
