Party!

Well went to megans birthday party tonight. There was alot of people there which was really cool. Paul had a good time with all the people there. We took some photos but the camera seems to be getting worse and worse and blurred most of them. Paul tried a snow cone for the first time and he was like “its freezing me!” and which he didn’t want to eat any more. Had actually a pretty good group to show up. There was another girl there close to pauls age that Paul made friends with of sort. He had a good time though. We left about half way as was sorta getting crowded. Paul gave her some of his paintings that he had done. We gave her a blank key as a joke so that she has a key for her car when she gets one. We didn’t know till we got there that they changed the laws here now that she cant get her license till next year as of July 1st. Which was a bummer.

The Day After

Well today I am feeling the effects of the kayaking trip. A little bit sore but not as bad as I thought. One thing I learned though, I do not like the sit on tops as man I sunburned my legs pretty bad. I can barely stand up due to it. Ive put aloe and solarcaine on them with not alot of luck. If I sit still its not nearly as bad but BOY when i move I sure feel it. Luckly I will be off work for awhile yet and can recover before time to go back. I took some photos to try and show how my legs burned. They burned very odd in splotches instead of solid. The flash was to close so lightened up the color a little bit but dont let it fool ya it HURTS.

Oh and I updated the kayaking trip to include the photos now also.

Kayaking Trip

Well today was the big day. We watched the weather all week and chance of rain kept going down but, when we got up this morning it had went back up to 60% we were like crap! But we were DETERMINED! Was only day that we were able to meet up with some friend of ours that we don’t get to see very often. We met up with them at Wendy’s up in corydon as they didn’t know where we were going so had them follow us down.

Well got down there was kinda chilly still and over cast but we were not letting that stop us. I choose to go in the sit-inside Dagger that he had and Joe had to use the Sit-on-top with the jump seat in the back for paul. Kim and Allen both got the other sit-insides but there’s were more of the touring boat whereas mine was wider and more of a play boat but not.

Once we all had our boats the guy went through some tips and things with us so we knew where to stop and all at and so forth. We started off pretty easy. Kim had a bit of a time learning how to steer and how to control her boat but she did fine. As was her first time going out, Im sure next time she will be even better as she will have some experience and bit more trust that the boat isnt going to tip over on her.

While we were kayaking Kim caught 3 fish! Shes only person I know that can catch fish without a pole or net. Guess will need to get her a fishing license before the next time.. Was pretty funny they flopped over the front of her boat not sure how or why. Think she might have caught them with her paddle as she was going through. Sure did make for some laughs and a good time though.

The part we went down today we haven’t went down before but, it was a lot better then the part we went down last time as the water was constantly flowing so didn’t have to work nearly as hard to go down stream. In fact Allen would put his feet up and just lay back and float down stream.

Paul had a good time as well. He wasn’t to thrilled when water got on his face but he was excited after was past the part. He road on the sit-on-top with daddy for awhile then when we switched boats he sat in the sit-inside and then with me on the sit-on-top. He even helped paddle the boat for awhile. By the end though he was wore out and ready to go home. He passed out in the car on the way home.

I tried to get some good photos of the 4 of us and of the scenery around as it was very beautiful but most times we were at the part where the water was moving and was afraid that would get the camera wet so had to put it away. Allen’s camera got a bit wet at the very end but hopefully it will dry out and be alright. All in all I think everyone had a great time though, and when we get our own boats next year *hope* we want to go out more often.

Playing At The Park

These photos I really wasn’t sure where to put them. They were odds and ends that we had took while we were walking around. When we first got there, there was a boat being put in the water which paul wanted to watch.   Then as we walked to the front of the park to check out the camps up there Paul decided he wanted to go up the stairs by the amphitheater. Which he had a good time playing peek-a-boo behind one of the walls. Joe caught him with his head up on one though.  Then when we got to the front as was looking at the signs Paul was running on the small wall and jumping off. Got a pretty good shot of him jumping off though. He fell down and skinned his knee pretty hard but he didn’t let that stop him.  Got some photos of the signs and of the steps that go way up the hill, not exactly sure where they go to but that’s just to many steps to go up lol.

The best photo yet was of Paul with the Snappy Pizza  Guy. It was to funny. Paul wanted NOTHING to do with him so daddy carried him over for me to get a photo of him. Its to cute though.

As we sat down and ate some lunch Daddy wrote with the stick that he had pulled out of his pickle Pauls name on the table which then paul wanted to do it also.  Then Paul seen a bardge and he wanted daddy to take a photo of him with the boat.  Then we had stopped to let paul swing on the swings which he had a good time. As we had started to walk over to watch the final battle paul was being silly and went over and kissed the tree lol.  At the end of the battle two military helicopters flew over head.

Pauls Photos

Well while the historian was telling his story’s paul was quite antsy so we handed paul the camera to take photos. That always makes him happy. It’s kinda getting scary as sometimes his photos are so good that its hard to tell if one of us took them or he did. Not sure if that’s a good thing or not. Either hes getting that much better or we are getting worse… He was fascinated with taking photos of the lady next to us. We finally got him to take photos of the camp’s and such for bit before he took photos of us and himself.
